Paying Off Debt
Paying off debt
The Internet has opened up new choices for how we live in todays world. You can shop for and get your groceries delivered without leaving your home. Finding holiday resorts, booking hotels, even checking-in to your airline can be done from the comfort of your chair.
This usefulness extends into almost every area of our lives and makes the world a much smaller place.
There are some down-sides though which go hand in hand with its ease of use. We're only a click away from a new debt. A home loan, car loan, store card and many other types of credit are also available at our fingertips – right along with a handy way to spend what they'll offer us.
So where's the backdoor to escape from this debt trap? You may not realise it but the internet offers many ways to manage and also pay off debt.
One advantage is that it's great for finding the best deals for transfering your debt onto a lower interest facility, check out your credit rating so that you know what to do to help get your credit history improved, and find ways to supplement your income so that the payments aren't eating into other areas of your life where you need the money.
You're probably already secretly aware that there are literally thousands of millionaires in the world but perhaps you haven't looked closely into how they got it.
The internet is making people rich every day and it's happening in hundreds of different ways and in dozens of countries. Some of these people were just like you, some were much worse off when they started.
The economic climate has recently taken massive turns for the worse and right now it's not getting any better.
Retail outlets with poor sales figures are going out of business on a daily basis and lowering their prices isn't helping. People just don't feel secure about spending their money and rightly so, they're jobs are as unstable as they've ever been. This means they're cutting back and looking for ways to save costs. Shopping around for deals and reducing travel costs are common.
This has resulted in a massive opportunity for anyone that is brave enough to venture into the world of online business and help people find information and deals. There is virtually no barrier to a normal person starting an online business. All you need is a computer and an internet connection.
In your spare time a few hours a week it's possible to create an income stream that you can grow into something much more substantial than you may have even realised. There are millionaires being made online all the time and there's nothing to stop you getting a big piece of the action.
By create an online business that brings in a few hundred dollars a month (easily possible), you can have your new business covering the payments on your debt. This is a very realistic goal – no matter how bad you think things are. There are people becoming debt-free thanks to doing exactly this all the time.
The only thing to stop you are the reasons you have for why you shouldn't do it.
There's no time like the present.

Great points, Andy! My online business has definitely helped me in pay off my debts over the last year.
I also posted a Getting out of Debt series on my blog a couple of months ago.
With the current economic situation, this is a topic that people really need to think about. It just makes me cringe when I stop by the mall to pick something up and I see people going with carts just LOADED with luxury items. As much as I would like to think that these people are wealthy, I fear that the truth is they are maxing out their credit cards without even considering how they will pay for it!
That's great Melanie.
I did the same myself and I know others that have too.
The Internet is an amazing resource that many people don't understand the power of.
Unfortunately many people ignore their debts until their situation becomes too big to handle.

There are so many more choices open to you when you are debt-free. You are not saddled by debt and can make decisions about what you *want* to do, not what you *have* to do.
