No-one says we can’t have fun and laugh while making money
Your friend - Andy.
I’m Andy Henry,
I’ve been using the Internet for marketing purposes since 1999 and I’ve used just about every method you could hear of.
I’ve created this blog so that I can share what works and what doesn’t with anyone who’s walking a similar path and doesn’t want to have to relearn the lessons I learned the hard (and long) way.

Your friend - Andy.
I found this news item which displays just how crazy the world is getting.
Read it and see what you think for yourself.
A motorcyclist has told how he was electronically tagged for four months and given a 36-hour community order – for dropping mint imperials while riding.
Thomas Payne, 19, must be at home from 8pm till 6am under the terms of his ankle tag after police spotted the trail of sweets left by his Yamaha DT175.
A police charge notice said he had ‘intentionally and without authority or reasonable cause, caused sweets to be on a road, namely Lancaster Circus, in such circumstances that it would have been obvious to a reasonable person that to do so would be dangerous’ contrary to the Road Traffic Act.
Payne insists: “They were just falling out of my pocket. Because of the time they followed me for they said I should have known.”
Payne was stopped in Birmingham on March 16. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Birmingham Magistrates Court on March 24. He was ordered to pay £50 costs.
He said: “For a 19-year-old being housebound every night is hell.”
He must also spend three hours every Saturday taking part in group activities including woodwork classes until his community order is completed. “I count myself lucky I’m still allowed to eat sweets,” he said.
West Midlands Police confirmed: “A man aged 19 was arrested on the March 16 in Lancaster Circus, Birmingham, on suspicion of endangering road users.
“He was charged on March 17 and appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on March 24.”
After all the mention of Twitter recently I thought I’d just share my thoughts now that I got to 1000 followers.
There’s nothing to it.
It’s just a nice place full of interesting people doing interesting things all over the world.
What am I doing with them? Nothing!
Well, actually I’m talking to them - it’s fun, they’re really interesting people.
Yes I could push a bunch of promotional links a few times a day and try and turn these people into something more, but right now a few strangers are becoming friends and I’m finding out some people are doing really cool things, so I’m good with that.
So - if you’re wondering how to get 1000 followers - all you need to do is find people who like what you like and talk to them. It’s as simple as that.
If you just tap-in to what you’re passionate about you can find a lot of people who you can relate to on a real level.
If you just go spamming people and trying to sell stuff, you might make a few sales but you’ll miss the best part of using Twitter.
I know that’s not a very IM thing to say, but hey I’ve never been very conventional when it comes to IM.
So - I say get on Twitter, meet some cool people and maybe you’ll get Friends, business partners and revenue.
There are some Twitter habits you might like to consider when you get going:
1 - Use the search tool and Twitter directories to find people that have your interests.
Many people just charge around following anyone they can find and then wonder why they’re following 5 times more people than are following them, and why people stop following them so often.
2 - Set your systems up so that Twitter doesn’t intrude.
This can be as simple as just using a desktop application to do all your twittering, or really complicated and using email filters and separate folders with an autoresponder message.
Many people use a tool called ‘tweetlater’ to notify them when someone follows them, tweetlater can also be configured to send ‘tweets’ for you at predefined times and even to send everyone that follows you a nice message.
If you’re using Twitter for your business you could use this facility to send them to a free gift or to find out more about your business.
3 - Your tweeting platform.
If like me you travel a lot but still want to access Twitter, you can have the messages sent to your phone, you can access it with a web enabled phone/blackberry etc. and there is a mobile version to make viewing on mobile devices more effective.
This is handy but sometimes phone compatibility issues can mean that you can’t login properly so test your access before going on a trip and then finding it doesn’t work.
Some of the most popular tools for tweeting are Twitteroo, Twitterific and Twitterpost. Twitterific is at http://twitter.com/twitterific,Twitterpost is at http://twitter.com/twitterpost andTwitteroo is at http://twitter.com/twitteroo
Whichever one you use, make sure you add the corresponding Twitter user to your friends list in Twitter so that you get updates on bugfixes etc.
See on there

Hi,I’ve been confused about some peoples attitudes recently. I just read a post that said something like “I’m quitting because I’ve only made $20 in a year”.Well - in all honesty, that’s much better than I did!
I actually made more than that in sales, but I spent at least $5k more than I earned in my first year.
So - what’s my point?
This is not a game for quitters.
There is amazing opportunity for smart people with motivation in IM.
There is money to be made for lazy stupid people too - smart and motivated doesn’t stop you making ’some’ money.
I know everyone wants to make their money immediately and retired in a few months, and although it’s not impossible - it’s not likely.
I’m not going to bore you with stories of how historical figures kept going until they made it, I’m sure you’ve heard the stories of KFC and Thomas Edison etc..
The point is - there is no point approaching the thing you want to be the main drive of your life with an attitude of anything less than 100% belief in success.
I’ve always been in IM for the long haul and passed up lots of quick cash opportunities along the way, but I know that a lot of Warriors come here and see that some of us are doing well and think the road is short.
I was spending more than I was making for the first 2 years of my online business.
I still spend a lot of money now (more than ever before), but now before I spend it I can see where the ROI will come from - so I just see the spending as investment.
So if you’re thinking of quitting - Either do it, or forget it, just don’t waste time thinking about it.
In my humble experience, the reason that I’ve seen people quit in the past has almost always been because of lack of a proper business plan.
I know lots of people think business plans suck and are a waste of time, but whatever you call it - you need something that you can refer to in order to confirm that you’re on track.
If you have a plan - you can check that you’ve moved forward. You can check what’s left to do. You can ‘know’ that the actions you’re about to take will be productive.
If you’re thinking that it’s ok for me to say this, but you need quick results - stop kidding yourself that you don’t know what to do and get on with what’s required.
These days it’s easier than ever to make money before.
Despite all the talk of things having got harder when it comes to SEO - that’s BS, it’s easier than ever.
When I started online you could stuff keywords into your meta data and get rankings in Google, sure that stuff has stopped.
But we never had Squidoo or Blogs.
I’ve been selling videos for the past few weeks showing how to set up a blog and get indexed within minutes and traffic from day one - for free.
I’ve been showing how easy it is to use Web2.0 properties and bookmarking to get traffic.
In fact, I created a Squidoo Lense a couple of days ago that’s now #140 in it’s category.
This stuff is easy to do, costs nothing and can be done a thousand times over for just your time.
So - do you have a plan?
Do you know what actions to take today to move forward?
What’s stopping you?
As they say in some parts of the world - either shit or get off the potty.
